The 5th Annual Grapes & Gourmet
Guys event was held on Tuesday, September 11, and once again
it was a hit! There were 26 area local male “gourmets” who
prepared their signature dishes to over 230 guests. Our judges,
for this event, were seven celebrity women which included Stow’s
Mayor Sara Drew. The “People’s Choice” award went to Larry Conti
and his grandson; the “Judges’ Choice” award went to, Jim Riter
and his assistants,
Mike Jones and Craig Cline;
the “Show Me the Money” award went to, Jim Riter
and his assistants,
Mike Jones and Craig Cline.
There was so much energy in the room with
entertainment provided by the “Get Back Band” and acoustical
guitarist, Rick Iacaboni. The silent auction provided people
with many items for them to bid on, from including roundtrip
airline tickets, Six month Akron General Wellness Center North
membership, Roses Run Golf package, Long’s Shoes gift
certificate and much more. The live auction item was for two
people to ride in the Goodyear Blimp.
A big thank you to all who helped with this event
and to all those who attended! The GriefCare Place is
funded entirely by fundraising events, donations, and memorial
gifts. The Grapes & Gourmet Guys certainly was a huge
fundraising event allowing us to continue supporting grievers
through the entire grief progress without charge.
